Write What You Don’t Know

Hey, look you guys! I wrote a thing and someone published it!

snippets & glimpses

Snippets and glimpses are all you give me, never the full picture, just pieces of you, mismatched, jagged and broken, and so you find in me no more.

“Take a picture of the sunset for your Instagram,” G said, with only a hint of sarcasm in his voice. “Social media is your life,” he’d said to me, earlier tonight. As a joke. I think. Because it’s not really true. But I do love sunsets. I do love photos. And I do love sharing them on Instagram. So I took his advice. — Image descriptions in alt text — #sunsetsky #sunsetskies #spectacularsunset #favouritetimeofday #redskyatnight #sunsetlover #sunsetlovers #sunset_pics #sunset_ig #sunset_love #sunset_hub #sunset🌅
Happy Valentine’s Day! — I 💖 love - in all its permutations, with all its nuances and in all its many forms. — Despite being taught the different types of love the Ancient Greeks recognised, in my teens and 20s I still prized romantic love above the others. Yet, romantic love, is just one type, and culturally, is often supposed to be reserved for “the one”. — A number of years ago, I began to believe this view was detrimental to my quality of life and instead began to cultivate a deep sense of self-worth and self-love which in turn allowed me to love others more fully, deeply and in ways that were better than romance. — On Valentine’s Day, I remember that romantic love is just one of life’s loves and that if we spend too much time seeking it, we can miss all the other loves available to us. — Image description in alt text — #valentinesday2019
Arrived home from my holiday to this; my (and the) first delightful book box from @the_nest_bookclub 😍 it’s absolutely gorgeous and packed with lovely Aussie goodies and homewares. Grab your cup of tea, a piece of chocolate (actually the whole block, let’s be honest), light a candle and nestle in to Holly Throsby’s debut novel “Goodwood”. Pretty much the best way to spend a day off! — Image description in alt text — #bookbox #bookmail #bookclub #bookclubsofinstagram #booksubscriptionbox #booksubscription #bookobsessed #thenestbookclub
Tonight I had a great night out at a little whiskey bar with some friends I haven’t seen in ages. Cheers to folks who’ve known you for almost 30 years. — Image descriptions in alt text — #whiskey #whiskeybar #whisky #whiskybar #whospellsitright #oldfashioned #oldfashionedcocktail #oldfashioneddrink
These clouds look fake. Can’t wait to get to Sydney though and catch up with @askellenbeauty @psyched_08 and family @amandor11 💖 — Image description in alt text — #byemelbourne #hisydney #travellinginterstate #minibreak #ihateflying #cloudscapes #goinghome #ilovesydney #butillmissmylove
In keeping with the non-fiction theme, here is February’s read. — Image description in alt text — #nonfiction #memoir #creativenonfiction #literarynonfiction #amreading #februarybooklove #educated #tarawestover #tarawestovereducated
